McKamey Animal Center invites animal lovers to the 2019 A Night for Paws Gala, May 3rd, an evening celebrating the success of animal advocacy and hands on care and services for more than 20,000 animals throughout the SE Tennessee area. McKamey lives its mission every day by: Saving Animals. Helping People. More than 7,000 animals were sheltered in 2018 and over 300,000 people impacted.

Special Guests Nashville songwriters Don Goodman and Steve Dean from Operation Song will perform a piece written by them about a veteran who credits his dog for saving his life. The evening is presented by McKamey’s Chair Couple, Dr. Mike Goodman and Carol Goodman. A Night for Paws will honor the late Bob McKamey and Bobby Stone for their dedication to the McKamey Animal Center and animal welfare.

Songwriters Goodman and Dean will perform “Angel Dog” about Hunter the dog who saved his veteran owner. The duo is prolific in creating hits for Alabama, Reba McEntire, Rodney Atkins and many more country stars. They will wrap up the evening with “O’Red” penned by Goodman about a Hound Dog facilitating a prison escape and a big hit for Blake Shelton.

All proceeds from the night will provide veterinary care, food, shelter and the chance for a forever home. A cocktail hour and interactive booths about the shelter kick off the evening overlooking the Tennessee River at the Hunter Museum of American Art. A gourmet dinner is provided by Lee Towery Catering. A live auction will include a trip to Costa Rica for a week at a beautiful beachfront property.
