String Celebration brings together nine masterful performers for a program that showcases the breadth, beauty, and bravura of chamber music for strings.

The program opens with Finnish composer Olli Mustonens Nonetto II. Written for nine solo string players, this work draws on ideas from the 17th and 18th centuries, with gorgeous, warmly expressive melodies but also volleys of brash, energetic themes. Where the serene, slow third movement suggests a meditative stasis, the finale returns to ecstatic exultation, eventually building to a riveting rhythmic finale.

Dvořks Terzetto in C Major offers a nostalgic shift in scale and timbre. Scored for two violins and viola, it was originally intended for informal musicking at home - though its technical demands soon surpassed its amateur origins. With graceful interplay and lyrical warmth, Terzetto weaves a heartfelt musical conversation.

For our grand Finale, all eight musicians join forces for Mendelssohns Octet in E-flat Major, a work of astonishing brilliance and youthful exuberance. Composed at just sixteen, the Octet merges symphonic grandeur with intricate precision, culminating in an electrifying fugue that brings Season Seventeen to a thrilling close.

Chattanooga Football Club will host Atlanta United of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 on Wednesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Finley Stadium.

The draw is a historic moment for the city as it represents the first time a team from Chattanooga will host a side from MLS in a competitive match.

CFC booked its spot in the Round of 32 on Wednesday evening, defeating Tennessee Tempo 1-0 in a commanding performance.

The draw for the Round of 32 and Round of 16 was conducted on Thursday morning on CBS Sports Golazo Network's "Morning Footy" show. The draw saw clubs divided into eight groups of four based on geography. When you release a project like Charles Wesley Godwins 2023 critically acclaimed Family Ties a highly personal, 17-song diary-like LP that was both universally praised and also catapulted the West Virginian singer-songwriter to new heights in his career the outside perception is that there are greater expectations on whatever music comes next. Ask Godwin however, and hell tell you that instead of dwelling on any chatter that accompanied such a revered release, he did what he always has done: Godwin simply kept on writing. Ive learned from the past that its not good to stop, says the singer-songwriter a humble songsmith whose music is deeply felt, undeniably intimate, and, over the past few years, has been connecting with audiences in ways he could have never imagined when he began his career just over a decade ago. The more consistent I am and the more Im putting in the time and effort to my songwriting, the more the songs come and the more Im able to be productive.

The result of such dutiful persistence was one of Godwins most prolific years yet: the musician estimates he wrote nearly 30 songs in 2024 and, in the process, most excitingly arrived at his stunning new 7-track EP, Lonely Mountain Town, due out February 28, via Big Loud. Its a quieter, more contemplative affair than Family Ties, to be sure. But it also contains some of the most thrilling songs of Godwins career to date. It was really cathartic for me, he says of re-teaming with his longtime producer, guitarist and bandmate, Al Torrence, at his Music Garden Studios in New Brighton, PA, to complete a handful of moving and at times melancholy cuts that ring with surefire sincerity and truth. Godwin notably recorded his vocals separately for the first time in his career in order to give them even more life and resonance.

Written principally on the road, Lonely Mountain Town is at its heart a collection of snapshots and quiet moments in life set to tune: these are tales of a traditional country-songwriting mindset. The sort of poetic musings that find Godwin raking through situations with a fine tooth comb and peeling back the layers on the most delicate situations thrown our way. These are character songs, Godwin explains. Most of them arent about my life. Theyre just little pieces that Ive taken from traveling.

To that end, theres the blue-collar tale of a natural gas welder (Its Her Move) inspired by a fly-fishing trip Godwin took to Northern New Mexico; the first single Its The Little Things, whose melody and storyline of embracing the simple pleasures, popped into Godwins head one morning in the shower; the EPs title track that, while originally written for a movie, was so vivid and inspiring Godwin couldnt let it go (Im tearing at the seams/What holds me in is day to day routine/Without you, in this lonely mountain town); or Dead To Rights, a song Godwin describes as his version of a sequel to Simon and Garfunkels The Boxer, penned and performed alongside acclaimed singer-songwriter and Big Loud labelmate ERNEST.

Its thrilling, Godwin says, to now have creative license. Not that he has ever caved to outside pressure. But following the success of Family Ties, and the incredible reception hes seen accompanying it, particularly when on the road playing to sold-out audiences, hes never felt more invigorated to stay true to his creative muse.

Its a good feeling to know that, he says of having such artistic independence. It gives you major confidence going forward.

Such unobstructed creativity allowed Godwin to work on the EP with musicians hed long admired. Working with ERNEST on Dead to Rights taught Godwin how sometimes the best songs can be written without painstakingly obsessing over the smallest detail. I saw that maybe it isnt the worst thing in the world to sit down and try to write a song in 10 minutes and see how it turns out rather than toiling over a line for a week, he admits. And then there is the truly magnificent cover of Jason Molinas Hammer Down, which paired Godwin with one of his musical heroes, Scott Avett. Godwin became fast friends with Avett after touring alongside the Avett Brothers as co-openers on Luke Combs 2024 Growin' Up and Gettin Old stadium tour. Most nights onstage, theyd duet on Hammer Down. It was a no-brainer then to enlist his new friend to record the song with him for Lonely Mountain Town.

It meant a lot to me and I think it turned out really cool too, Godwin says proudly of recording with Avett. It brought new life to a song that a lot of people havent been exposed to.

Godwin started gigging intensely in the mid-2010s and independently released his beloved debut album, Seneca, in 2019. Like so many musicians however, the pandemic would put a wrinkle in his plans: Godwin was unable to properly tour behind Seneca and, in turn, couldnt build up the momentum and fanbase hed hoped for.

When musicians were able to return to the stage, however, Godwin and his longtime band, the Alleghany High, pounded the pavement behind his second album, 2021s How The Mighty Fall. The pace and incredible response to his live show was only amplified post-Family Ties: Godwin has since appeared on ESPNs Sportscenter, performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS Saturday Sessions. He also made his Stagecoach and Bonnaroo debuts in 2024.

Now, as he heads back out on the road this winter and spring, playing a slew of sold-out shows across the country while also releasing Lonely Mountain Town, Godwin is thrilled with where things stand. To him, success moving forward is about continuing to do things his way.

I just want to continue writing like I have been and continue to record when I can and to keep producing and making music, he says without hesitation. Because thats what makes me happy. He smiles and adds, If I keep doing that, then I think everything else will work out just fine.

Heartland anthems like "Bernadette" and "Golden" are laced with all the ringing guitars and larger-than-life hooks of Tom Petty's best work, while "High Country" crystallizes the genre-spanning High Heat sound that's so unique, even the bandmates themselves have trouble describing it. "I call it 'disco country,'" says guitarist/keyboardist Garrison Brown. "I call it 'cowboy gone to the beach,'" argues drummer Bobby Wade. Whatever you call it, that signature sound belongs to Jason Scott and the High Heat, and it's never sounded more eclectic or electric than it does on American Grin.

American Grin, the follow-up to Jason Scott & The High Heat's acclaimed debut, is a soundtrack for road trips across the American desert with the radio cranked high, the FM dial caught halfway between the country and rock & roll stations, the sounds from both channels bleeding together into some new frequency. It's the band's own version of amplified American roots music, as wide-ranging as the country that inspired it.

For a band of multi-faceted musicians capable of handling their own photography, video creation, songwriting, and styling with little outside help, American Grin feels like an appropriate showcase of creativity and cheeky charm.

Here, they're stepping back into the light, bringing along a batch of songs that don't honor the roots-rock tradition as much as reshape it entirely.

Dexter and the Moonrocks

Dexter and The Moonrocks (Country Pop) didnt set out to change rock music - but thats exactly what theyre doing. A fry cook, an oil field operator, a concrete surface decorator, and a kids baseball coach came together in West Texas, blending the country and western of their childhoods with the grunge they fell in love with as teenagers. That fusion became Western Space Grunge - a genre of their own making that turned them from a grassroots phenomenon into a force to be reckoned with.

They first broke through in 2021 with "Couch," a melancholy slow-burn that resonated deeply with fans and set the foundation for what was to come. That early momentum caught the attention of Severance Records, an imprint of Big Loud Rock, looking to make a statement with its first signing. Together, they released "Western Space Grunge" in July 2024, solidifying the bands identity and introducing their most defining songs yet. The breakout single "Sad in Carolina" took them from small-town bars to seven weeks at No. 1 on U.S. Alternative radio, proving their DIY grit and fearless sound could go head-to-head with the biggest names in rock.

Now, with their EP "Happy to Be Here" (out May 7, 2025), Dexter and The Moonrocks are stepping into their moment, where a cult favorite becomes the next big thing. Led by Ritalin - a stadium-ready anthem already climbing the charts - the record captures a band fully coming into their own. From viral covers to festival stages, theyre proving theyre not just next up: theyre inevitable.

In honor of the release of Happy To Be Here, Dexter and The Moonrocks pressed their first ever vinyl, The Double EP. Side A features all tracks from Happy to Be Here and Side B showcases all songs from Western Space Grunge. The limited edition vinyl pre-orders went live on March 27 to fans and the initial stock sold out in 15 minutes.

Born Shante Anthony Franklin and raised in New Orleans, Curren$y (Hip-Hop/Rap) was originally signed to Master Ps No Limit label, but in 2005 he made the move to Lil Wayne and Birdmans Cash Money imprint, Young Money. He appeared on Waynes Tha Carter II album that same year, then in 2006, Curren$y's Where da Cash At single was released -- both on its own and as part of Waynes Dedication 2 mixtape -- but a promised album never materialized. Not one to sit idle, Curren$y started Fly Society with professional skateboarder Terry Kennedy in 2007. The brand was originally planned as a line of apparel, but evolved into a music label as the rappers relationship with Young Money soured. After leaving the label at the end of 2007 with Fly Society in tow, a series of underground mixtapes appeared before Curren$y hooked up with the digital-only Amalgam Digital for the early 2009 release This Ain't No Mixtape. The relationship continued that October with the download-only Jet Files, but in early 2010 he joined the Def Jam family via Damon Dashs DD172 imprint. With the labels in-house producer Ski Beatz handling most of the production on both, Curren$y's Pilot Talk album appeared in July of that year, with Pilot Talk II landing in 2010. The stopgap release Weekend at Burnie's followed in 2011, with the retro backing tracks coming from producer Monsta Beatz. Beatz, along with the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. Leauge and Pharrell, was back for the rapper's 2012 street release, The Stone Immaculate. ~ David Jeffries
