It may not be Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, but it’s the next best thing in town! Creative Discovery Museum will celebrate chocolate’s history, lore, science and appeal at the third annual Chocolate Festival, on Saturday, September 13 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

During the festival Museum guests will be able to make cocoa butter lotion, sample three different types of chocolate and attend a truffle making demonstration. Visitors will also discover how chocolate pods are picked, fermented, dried, roasted and blended to make different forms of chocolate.

In addition to all the other fun chocolate themed activities, children and their families will be able to participate in the following kitchen classes:

  • Chocolate Mousse demonstration and tasting at noon.
  • Chocolate truffle making at 1 p.m.
  • Chocolate decorative flowers at 2 p.m.
  • Chocolate chip baking class with samples at 3 p.m.

“Chocolate is a universal joy, for children and adults,” said Liza Blair, Arts Manager at Creative Discovery Museum. “This event is a great way for guests to enjoy the lore and decadence of chocolate.”

All Chocolate Festival activities are included with paid Museum admission.
