Ring in the New Year with Father Time, Baby New Year, and Saxophobia at Creative Discovery Museum. New Years at Noon will take place on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is the only local New Year’s Eve party designed specifically for children during daylight hours. This event draws a crowd to the Museum, so visitors are encouraged to arrive no later than 11:30 a.m. to enjoy the noontime activities.

Children attending this event will learn about the passage of time using traditional adult activities presented in a child friendly manner. Because New Years at Noon has become a much-anticipated, traditional event as part of Chattanooga’s holiday routine, Museum staff are working to ensure that the expectations created during past successful New Years celebrations will be met and exceeded again this year.

“New Year’s at Noon is a great way to celebrate the New Year with kids,” said Jayne Griffin, Director of Education at Creative Discovery Museum. “The event allows children to experience the passage of time and a traditionally adult event in a fun, child friendly setting.”

As part of the traditional celebration, the Museum will host a countdown with Father Time and Baby New Year, complete with a colorful, air-filling confetti drop at the strike of noon. At 1 p.m., Father Time will lead guests in an energetic dance party with live music provided by Saxophobia followed by an extravaganza of indoor child friendly fireworks! Children will make hats, wands, and shakers all morning in preparation for a these over the top activities. Guests may also get a souvenir photo taken to commemorate the day’s festivities.

All activities are free with paid admission to the Museum.
