July is a reflective month as we celebrate the independence of our country and count our freedoms. In Chattanooga especially, there's one day in July we will never forget -- when four marines and a sailor were killed in a tragic attack on July 16, 2015.

On this two-year anniversary, our community is coming together in a variety of ways -- like we did after the attacks at the Recruiting Center on Lee Highway and Naval Reserve Center on Amnicola.

On Sunday, July 16, the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County invite you and your family to the Tennessee Riverpark for the Chattanooga Strong Community Concert at 5 PM. It will honor and celebrate the lives of our five brave servicemen who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will honor Sullivan, Wyatt, Holmquist, Wells, and Smith, on Saturday too with the Heroes Run, when hundreds will pass the spot where we will construct a permanent Fallen Five Memorial. And on Sunday morning on the anniversary of the attack, churches across Chattanooga will share and recite an interfaith prayer -- written together to remember and pray for our Fallen Five and their families.

Will you join us for the Chattanooga Strong Community Concert so together we can recognize our heroes on this monumental day? Let us know you'll be there at bit.ly/July16Concert.
