It’s back by popular demand! Creative Discovery Museum is bringing back Saturday PlayGym this year with four sessions geared toward children ages four months to three years and their caregivers. The Saturday sessions will be held on the first Saturday of each month (March 3, April 7 and May 5) with Baby/Ones beginning at 10:30 a.m. and Two/Threes beginning at 11:30 a.m.
During the class, both adults and children interact with each other by learning and playing in a way that is healthy for both baby and parent using colorful gym equipment and sensory stimulation. The experiences offered in Playgym aid in the development of motor, language, and cognitive skills. PlayGym also offers parents and children a safe, fun environment to meet others in their peer group, as well as, share special moments together. PlayGym is still offered on weekdays, but the Saturday schedule enables moms and dads whose schedules will not allow weekday classes an opportunity to experience engaging activities with their child.
“These classes are designed for parents to participate while allowing children to engage in all the learning domains in one hour,” states Jenette Dean, PlayGym Instructor and an early childhood educator with over 20 years of experience. “Every class will include music, movement, art, intellectual, language and socialization activities.”
Reservations are required for PlayGym and payment is due upon registration. Call Nancy at (423) 648-6045 or Beth at (423) 648-6040 to register. Cost for the four sessions is $32.50 for members and $42.50 for non-members. For more information, visit www.cdmfun.org.
