Chemistry and some uncommon, non-toxic ingredients will be used to create fruit juice spheres in a new science demonstration at Creative Discovery Museum. Children will be amazed as fruit juice magically transforms into spheres during this simple chemistry experiment. Families can participate in this unique event at Creative Discovery Museum on December 19-23, 2011, December 17-30, 2011 and January 2-6, 2012.

Fruit Juice Spherification is a type of molecular cooking experiment, which is widely popular and progressive in innovative restaurants around the world. Children and families will be able to take part in the experiment and make the food themselves. The rewarding conclusion of the experiment involves picking up the juice spheres with fingers and popping them in your mouth.

“You would have to travel a great distance and spend a large amount of money to be able to experience the latest in molecular gastronomy,” said Karen Dewhirst, Museum Experience Manager. “Playing with food is a fun way to develop a child’s interest in cooking, chemistry and trying new foods.”

Fruit Juice Spherification is free with Museum admission. Pre-registration is not required.
