On Saturday, December 3, Creative Discovery Museum will chug right along with the “All Aboard the Holiday Express” for a Preschool Adventure Day. Special activities for children age 18 months to 4 years will highlight play with trains and visits to a Gingerbread Village, December Holiday Village, Snow Village and Music Depot. Preschool Adventure Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is free with admission to the Museum.
All Aboard! themed activities include “train stops,” a chance to be an engineer, get a train whistle, play with toy trains, participate in train songs, decorate gingerbread men and play with rhythm sticks. Additionally, costumed characters, such as Gingerbread Baker, the Elf, and the Snow Queen will greet children with warm welcome. Each activity will provide children with the experience of a pretend holiday train that will take them through multi-sensory, hands-on activities that incorporate music, art, literacy and lots of fun!
“Early childhood educators stress that children learn best by experiencing multi-sensory activities,” stated Jenette Dean, the Museum’s PlayGym Coordinator and Early Childhood Educator. “This will be a highly sensory-rich event which will foster future learning. The special adventure will be an exciting memory to be made with you and your young child.”
Preschool Adventure Saturdays provide enriching Museum experiences for children ages 18 months to 4 years. Each activity will be educationally and developmentally appropriate, so children will experience the theme of the day in a variety of ways that will be exciting for them.
The December 3 Preschool Adventure Saturday will be the final one for the year.
