Come in where it’s warm and experience a wintry maze! Sound different? That’s because it is! Creative Discovery Museum’s guest favorite, the winter maze and cozy cottage, will return as part of a recharged cold weather themed exhibit, Winter Wonders. The maze and cozy cottage will be open to all who visit the exhibit in the upstairs gallery Saturday, November 19, 2011 through Sunday, January 3, 2012.

Winter Wonders will open on Nov. 19 with a blast of cold from the season’s first snow fall, thanks to an artificial snow machine. Throughout the exhibit, children may play dress up in the cozy cottage, “make” gingerbread cookies, and shop all by themselves for holiday gifts for family members at the Holiday Shoppe. Visitors can explore a winter forest and learn about tracks in the snow. Also, very young children have a space to play with puppets and act out gingerbread and snow stories.

Winter Wonders provides a fun and engaging way to foster an understanding of the winter weather found in colder climates and the adventurous outdoor and cozy indoor activities that accompany this festive season,” said Jayne Griffin, Director of Education at Creative Discovery Museum.
