The best place to take in the excitement of the Chattanooga Symphony’s patriotic performance at Coolidge Park and the spectacular fireworks display that follows on July 3 is at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s Star Spangled Picnic.

The event is fun for the whole family, with tickets priced at $40 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

Sugar’s is catering the barbecue dinner for grown ups, with a menu that includes barbecue pork and chicken, potato salad, two kinds of cole slaw, beans, pickles, rolls, and tea.

Kids will enjoy grilled hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks. For dessert, there’s ice cream from Clumpies and cupcakes from Belle’s Cupcakes. Each person receives two drink tickets for the beverage of his or her choice, including beer and wine for adults.

Parking is free in the CTC lot for those attending the Star Spangled Supper. There’s also the enormous benefits of air-conditioning, clean bathrooms, and ample space on the veranda and front lawn of the CTC to spread out and enjoy the CSO and fireworks.

This year at the event, the CTC will auction themed picnic baskets donated from friends of the Theatre Centre, filled with goodies including gift cards for dinners and fun merchandise.

The Star Spangled Family Picnic begins at 5:30 on Sunday, July 3. Reservations are required in order to access the free parking, but space is limited. Call the box office today: 423-267-8534 or visit www.TheatreCentre.com
