Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends will delight preschoolers at Creative Discovery Museum on April 2 for the Museum’s Preschool Adventure Saturday. The Chattanooga School for the Creative Arts Theatre Group will depict characters from the classic stories and visit with guests from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children will experience multi-sensory, hands-on activities that incorporate music, art, literacy and lots of fun!
The adventure includes meeting Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Christopher Robin and joining them for a pretend tea party, singing and dancing. Activities will take place in the Museum’s Atrium and will illustrate themes in the stories set in 100 Acre Wood. Children will make a hat of their favorite character, finger paint with vanilla pudding, make a bear sandwich, create a fuzzy bee painting, decorate a paper balloon, and “pollinate” a flower garden with a bee wand.
“Great children’s literature will come to life as they play with Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends,” stated Jenette Dean, the Museum’s PlayGym Coordinator and Early Childhood Educator. “This will be a unique experience where children can walk through Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100 Acre Wood and experience the beloved stories and characters in a memorable way.”
Preschool Adventure Saturdays provide enriching Museum experiences for children ages 18 months to 4 years. Each activity will be educationally and developmentally appropriate, so children will experience the theme of the day in a variety of ways that will be exciting for them.
This event is free with paid admission.
