Preschoolers will have a good old time at Creative Discovery Museum’s Ride into the West Preschool Adventure Saturday. Children will experience multi-sensory, hands-on activities that incorporate science, music, art, literacy and lots of fun! On March 5 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., youngsters can saddle up to learn vocabulary within a Western theme.
Children will learn concepts of the old west and develop new vocabulary. Some of the activities include making cowboy hats, decorating cowboy boots, creating a stick horse, visiting a horse and carriage on the Museum’s Plaza, and watching an 11 year old do rope tricks. There will also be a musician playing western music on a guitar, and children will have an opportunity to make a corral sandwich.
Preschool Adventure Saturdays provide enriching Museum experiences for children ages 18 months to 4 years. Each activity will be educationally and developmentally appropriate, so children will experience the theme of the day in a variety of ways that will be exciting for them.
“A child’s vocabulary is the best indicator for ease of learning to read. During Ride into the West, preschoolers will experience western activities and learn lots of vocabulary in a fun, memorable way. “
This event is free with paid admission to the Museum.
