Great fun doesn’t just fall from the sky or does it? On January 15, 2011, Creative Discovery Museum will host a Snow Day featuring activities about the anticipated white flakes that fall from the sky to make winter so much fun. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., children can learn the science behind the wonder of snow and participate in projects that can be duplicated at home for parents and children to do together.
Snow Day fun at the Museum includes a wealth of information to be shared about one of winter’s most interesting phenomenon. The variety of snow activities include making snow ice cream, snowball fights, snow tales and 3-D snowflake art, mini icebergs, an Ice Queen show, warm and cozy snacks, and ice fishing.
“Using snow is an innovative way to heighten children’s sensory awareness and practice critical thinking skills with something they could find in the natural world,” states Amy Barrett, Museum Experience Manager over Staffing and Programs.
Snow Day activities are free with paid admission to the Museum.
