Creative Discovery Museum has both kids and parents in mind with the design and schedule of a “cool” themed “Kids’ Day Out” during the holiday break. Parents are invited to register their children for one or all four fun-filled days December 21 or 22 and January 3 or 4 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This opportunity offers something special just for kids during the winter break and gives parents more time to prepare for a busy holiday season, as well as, juggle work schedules before school resumes.
The program incorporates a variety of activities with cooking, crafts, movement, and group interaction. Themed activities include winter art projects, concocting cool treats in Culinary Corner, reading wintry stories, exploring the “icy” maze in the upstairs exhibit, Winter Wonders, and learning about animals in winter weather.
“Kids’ Day Out is a child-centered program where the goal is for everyone to have a great time, where the staff is unsurpassed in providing a fun, quality experience for the kids, and where the parents can feel secure going to work or a day of shopping knowing their children are safely and happily enjoying their winter break at the Museum,” states Lynne Mulligan, the Museum’s Programs Manager.
Reservations are required for these holiday break days and payment is due upon registration. Program activities are divided into age groups for Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd through 5th grades. Cost for each day is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
