Conductor: Mei-Ann Chen
Maestra Chen debuts with the CSO for this fascinating program. One of the most brilliant orchestrations in the repertoire, Scheherazade is Rimsky-Korsakov's musical telling of the "1001 Arabian Nights." Orchestra solos abound in this magical journey. Dvorak's happy overture opens this marvelous evening, and while the Hindemith has an imposing title, it is a thoroughly charming, clever and electrifying work.
