The AEC Conference on Southern Literature returns for its 15th biennial celebration on April 2-4, 2009, in beautiful Chattanooga, Tennessee. Recently described as "the premiere literary event in the South" by author Louis Rubin, the AEC Conference attracts over 1,000 readers and writers from all over the United States.

What makes the AEC Conference on Southern Literature a premiere literary event? Regular attendees say it's the "approachable and friendly writers," the "diversity of the speakers and topics" and the "wonderful ambiance." The informal atmosphere allows conversations to thrive, inspired by a common passion for the written word.

The 2009 Conference will mark 20 YEARS since the Fellowship of Southern Writers selected Chattanooga for its headquarters and chose to collaborate with the Conference on Southern Literature. Up to 50 members of the Fellowship will participate in this year's event, discussing hot topics and reading from their latest works. The Fellowship will also award nine literary prizes and induct eight new members, making this event the place to discover up-and-coming voices in Southern literature.

Since 1981, readers and writers alike have been finding inspiration, joy, memories and friendship in the Conference on Southern Literature experience. What will you find?
