"CDMopoly" Party Inspired by Moneyville Exhibit Will Be March 8, 7-11 p.m.

Creative Discovery Museum's annual "Amuse"Um fundraiser will be held March 8. This year's theme of "CDMopoly" is inspired by the current Moneyville exhibit. "CDMopoly" features all sorts of money-themed play opportunities for adults, just like Moneyville does for children and families.

Remember the Monopoly game piece in the shape of a car? A restored vintage Roadster and Mr. Moneybags himself will greet guests on March 8. They will also be available for media interviews at a media preview scheduled for Wednesday, March 5.

"Imagine a children’s museum transformed to create a perfect evening of fun and play for grownups, where adults can become kids again for just one night," said Sharman Sherfey, Director of Development and Public Relations. "There will be a multitude of games, entertainment, and incredible food and drinks throughout the entire Museum."

Now in its 12th year, "Amuse"Um is known as one of the best parties in Chattanooga, with near-capacity crowds of over 600 attendees for the last three years.

"Jenny and Hamp Johnston, our “Amuse”Um 2008 co-chairs, and their committees have had great fun planning this year's party. They've put together an incredible line up of activities," said Sherfey.

"CDMopoly" party activities include
* Kentucky Avenue Derby Party on the Rooftop, featuring the Dismembered Tennesseans.
* Go to jail for $20 and a chance to grab lots of cash inside the Money Machine.
* Place your bids in any of three spectacular auctions.
* Relax in the Marvin Gardens Conservatory.
* Pamper yourself with a special spa treatments in the Park Place Spa.

Funds raised through "Amuse"Um will help the Museum offer quality programs and exhibits to over 225,000 people (including 35,000 school children) who visit annually and ensure that the Museum remains a vital resource for the community.
