From Soul Food to Superfoods: Try New Cooking Classes at the J.A. Henry YMCA
Starting May 6, the J.A. Henry Community YMCA will host a new series of fun, hands-on cooking classes for all skill levels. Led by food and nutrition experts, each class teaches simple, healthy, and delicious recipes designed to build confidence in the kitchen. Classes are $30 for YMCA members and $45 for non-members. Scholarships available.

  • Got Milk? (May 6) – Discover nutritious plant-based milk alternatives
  • Seasonal Bites (May 15) – Cook with fresh, in-season ingredients
  • Whole Grain Goodness (June 3) – Add flavor and fiber to everyday meals
  • Eat Your Hydration (June 19) – Make meals and snacks that keep you hydrated
  • Eat Your Greens (July 1) – Turn leafy veggies into crave-worthy dishes
  • Back to School Bites (July 17) – Quick, healthy recipes for kids and parents
  • One-Pot Wonders (Aug. 21) – Create hearty meals with fewer dishes
  • Kitchen Hacks (Sept. 18) – Time-saving tips and tricks for smarter cooking
