As American cities have revived, their revival has been uneven, polarized between poverty and prosperity. As Chattanooga grows, it faces unprecedented challenges if it is to spread the benefits of growth equitably. Mr. Mallach will lay out this picture, both nationally and locally, and suggest ways in which Chattanooga can foster greater equity as it grows.

Mallach is a city planner, advocate, and writer, nationally known for his work on housing, economic development, and urban revitalization.
