Join photojournalist Lyric Lewin for a food photography workshop on the morning of Saturday, July 20th.
Gather with friends and other creatives in learning how to compose, style and photograph a brunch board. We will work with fresh fruit and delicious baked goods to compose, style and photograph a fabulous brunch arrangement.
Guests will start the class with a welcome drink of coffee or orange juice (bring your own champagne and make it a mimosa!) before diving into a brief photography lesson, followed by hands-on learning. We will talk about how to incorporate lighting, composition, color theory and perspective into how you create a food-image. Bring your DSLR or your smartphone and Lyric will assist with technical questions as well as help guide you towards unlocking your creativity. This class is for beginners, but will accommodate all skill levels. The ticket price will include a welcome beverage, all the ingredients for your brunch board (to enjoy eating!) as well as photography and food styling lessons.
About the teacher:
Lyric Lewin is a journalist who's covered food and culture across international newsrooms and kitchens. While at CNN her work with the team was recognized by the National Press Photographers Association. She then led visual coverage as the Photo Director at Whetstone Media. Her work in the world of food and beverage coupled with her journalistic training led her to create her company, Forthright Food + Foto.
