Do you have a box full of beads, a keychain you don’t have room for, a trinket or magazine cut out you just love but don’t know what to do with? This class will take your treasures and incorporate them into an embroidered collage utilizing needle, thread, paper, and anything else you may have that you just can’t let go. In this class, you’ll learn how to embroider in four basic threading styles: running stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, and chain stitch and how to do small accent stitches like the french knot. Participants will get hands-on demonstrations on how to incorporate found objects into these one-of-a-kind creations.

Supplies include: muslin to practice with, a sharpie and erasable marker, a transfer design of your choosing, up to four thread colors of your choosing, beads, an embroidery needle, and an embroidery hoop.

Remember to bring any items you would like to add into your design collage. Examples include paper, glass, beads, buttons, gems, dried or faux herbs/flowers, etc. If you have questions on this class or possible items to incorporate, please contact Sarah Olivo at saraheolivo@gmail.com.
