As Ed Johnson awaited execution, he had one final wish -- to go to church one last time. But leaving the jail was impossible, so the Rev. E.B. Fleming brought the church to him.

Fleming, the choir of the former St. James Baptist Church and several hundred members went to the Hamilton County jail instead. They held a church service - Ed Johnson was baptized and welcomed into membership at St. James Baptist. Now, as we remember the life of Ed Johnson, join us in bringing the church to the place where he was imprisoned.
