DATE: Saturday, July 22-Wednesday, July 26
TIME: 9:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.

If you have always wanted to make your own boots, but were too intimidated, this is the class for you. By using your own feet for the pattern making, you will not only ensure that your shoes fit like a glove, but will eliminate the need for expensive equipment. We will use only a handful of simple tools that are easily found. You can make practical hiking boots or get creative & make something artsy using colorful leather & your imagination. The heat moldable diabetic insoles will support & cradle your foot & instep inside the shoe, & the cloud crepe will make a soft bed for your completed footwear on the outside. With the addition of a tough Vibram sole you will be prepared for any street or trail.

All materials & tools will be provided. you only need to provide your feet. No special strength or skill required. Instructors will pre-punch the leather with special hand made awls that slice right though the leather. This will make the sewing simply a matter of lacing the blunt threaded needles through the holes. Check out past creations here!

Please note: This class is an intensive, five-day workshop and afterward you will walk away with a perfectly fit pair of shoes or boots you made yourself. We are fortunate to partner with Chattanooga WorkSpace and John C. Campbell Folk School for this amazing class.
