Chattanooga Sports Ministries is hosting the 4th Annual Neighborhood Cup Soccer Tournament on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19. Teams of boys and girls ages 8 -14 residing in neighborhoods spanning from Highland Park to Hixson will compete between 6 pm – 9 pm on Friday and from 9 am – 3 pm on Saturday. All of the games will be held at Highland Park Commons, a turf soccer park located at 2000 Union Avenue.
“We host the Neighborhood Cup Soccer Tournament annually for the purpose of connecting teams from all areas of town for a fun weekend of soccer,” said Hannah Griggs, Executive Director of Chattanooga Sports Ministries.
The Neighborhood Cup offers both a competitive and recreational bracket. The price to register a team of ten is $150…that’s only $15 per player. Proceeds from the Neighborhood Cup will benefit Chattanooga Sports Ministries (CSM). CSM impacts the lives of approximately 150 children between the ages of 8-18 annually through their year round soccer program. Presently, CSM focus their efforts and outreach on three targeted Chattanooga inner city neighborhoods: Emma Wheeler Homes, East Lake and East Chattanooga. The program serves a very diverse group of youth including children from Latino, African American, and Caucasian backgrounds.
The deadline for team registration is November 11. To register your team for the tournament or to make a donation, visit www.chattsportsministries.org
