Covenant College will kick off its 2013-14 theater season with Jon Jory’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
The play follows the story of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and their five daughters: Elizabeth, Jane, Lydia, Mary, and Kitty. The show focuses primarily on Elizabeth and her turbulent road to love with the enigmatic Mr. Darcy. Along the way the audience is introduced to several suitors who try and woo the sisters. Whether or not the sisters find love is a question whose answer lies within the show. Audiences should be prepared to laugh and fall in love with this beautiful Jane Austen story.
Pride and Prejudice opens with a preview performance Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m., the ticket price at $3. Show dates run Oct. 4,5, and 11, at 8 p.m., and then Oct. 12, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and will go on sale Sept. 18.
