The Bessie Smith Cultural Center will host a Gallery Talk on Tuesday, February 5 to highlight their current exhibit, We Shall Not Be Moved – The 50th Anniversary of Tennessee’s Civil Rights Sit-Ins.

The Gallery Talk will feature Ralph Moore, Eddie Holmes, Booker Scruggs, Moses Freeman, and other local civil rights veterans who were leaders in the renowned local and state Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s. These leaders will share riveting stories and their experiences as guests travel through the captivating exhibit.
“This is such a tremendous opportunity for individuals to see, hear, and learn from local heroes who changed the course of Chattanooga history,” said Rose Martin, President of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. “I encourage people of all ages to attend.”

The Gallery Talk will be held at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center located at 200 E. Martin Luther King Boulevard. The Talk is free to members of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center and children under 5, $7 for non-members and $3 for children between 6-12.
