The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) has announced the 2013 FRESH exhibit, which will open the night of the AVA’s Downtown Gallery Hop, Saturday, September 7, and will continue through October 12.

AVA’s commitment to supporting young and emerging artists remains a touchstone of the organization. FRESH is an annual exhibit to help emerging artists gain valuable professional experience and exposure for their work. This competitive, juried exhibit is designed to feature artists that display artistic promise, commitment to their work, and fresh ideas. This opportunity is only open to artists residing in the Southeast who have not had a major solo show and who do not have gallery representation.

“Since it’s inception, FRESH has attracted some of the most technically sound and artistically innovative emerging talent in the Southeast,” said Lauren Goforth, AVA’s Director of
Education and Exhibitions. “AVA’s mission to support and promote emerging artists within the blossoming arts culture of Chattanooga makes this a highly recognized and anticipated show.”

AVA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization for professional artists, emerging artists and the community-at-large. AVA has been the catalyst for establishing and empowering Chattanooga’s visual arts community for more than 25 years. AVA receives general operating support from Allied Arts, the Tennessee Arts Commission and AVA members.
