The parade will begin at 11 a.m. in the Sears parking lot and will circle the mall, ending near the Food Court entrance where children can escort Santa through the mall to Center Court. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early for best seats.

Local high school and middle school bands, community groups and businesses are invited to participate. Last year over 1,000 participants took part in the parade, representing more than 50 various groups. Also new this year will be a judging area where entrants will vie for bragging rights along with great prizes in several categories including: Best of Parade; Best High School Band; Community Spirit Award; Most Holiday Spirit; Best Performance by a dance/chorus group; and Outstanding Commercial Entry.

All monies raised from the $25 registration fee will benefit the United Way of Greater Chattanooga’s “Project Ready for School”. This program enables children in the Chattanooga area to receive free books, develop leadership skills and self-confidence through Scouting and more.
