The Mu'tet put on one of the strongest, most enthusiastically received shows we've ever had at Barking Legs last fall, so we're bringing them back sooner than usual to include in the HATCH festival. Ask ANYONE who caught them last time. I don't care if you're a rocker, a jazzer, a funker, this show will knock you out... don't miss it!

Jeff Coffin is a 3x Grammy award winner and internationally recognized saxophonist, bandleader, composer and educator and has been traveling the globe since the late 20th Century. From 1997-2010, Coffin was a member of groundbreaking and genre-defying fusion group, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones. In mid 2008, while pulling double duty with the Flecktones later in the year, Jeff began touring with Dave Matthews Band after DMB founding saxophonist LeRoi Moore was injured, and officially joined the group in 2009 following LeRois tragic passing.

The Mutet features an all-star group of musicians Felix Pastorius (bassist player for the Grammy winning Yellowjackets & the son of bass legend Jaco Pastorius) on electric bass, Bill Fanning on trumpet/space trumpet, Derico Watson (Victor Wooten Band/George Duke/Larry Carlton) on drums, and Mutet veteran and New Orleans native, Chris Walters (JD Souther) on keys. The band is currently touring the US in support of their new 2-CD set Jeff Coffin & the Mutet LIVE! (Ear Up Records), having completed very successful tours in Brazil and Canada in 2011. The Mutet also has a new studio album due to be released later in 2012.

Following a June 2011 performance in Atlantic City, NJ, The Press of Atlantic City offered the glowing opinion that Jeff Coffin is "one of the best saxophonists today...and his band is equally impressive...He dazzles!"
