For the fourth year in a row University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will present a benefit production ofThe Vagina Monologues at the University Center Auditorium on February 9 and 10, 2012 at 7pm and on February 11, 2012 at 1pm on behalf of the V‑Day 2012 Campaign. This benefit production is sponsored by the UTC Women’s Action Council and Women’s Center with proceeds benefiting the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults and the UTC Transformation Project. Tickets are $5 for students (with ID) and $10 for general admission and may be purchased in the University Center lobby on February 6-8, by contacting the Women’s Center 423-425-5605 or at the door.

What are The Vagina Monologues? Hailed by The New York Times as "funny" and "poignant" and by the Daily News as "intelligent" and "courageous," The Vagina Monologues, which was first performed off-Broadway by Ms. Ensler, dives into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in women’s experiences. Ms. Ensler has performed the play to great acclaim throughout the world - from Zagreb to Santa Barbara, from London toSeattle, from Jerusalem to Oklahoma City. Villard Books/Random House first published The Vagina Monologues, which includes a foreword by Gloria Steinem, in February 1998. A special edition was released in hard cover and paperback in February 2008 in honor of V-Day’s ten year anniversary.
