When I ask most people to name a city associated with coffee the immediate response is Seattle. Every now and then someone who know a little something about coffee may say Portland or, since 2009, maybe even New York. The one city that often gets overlooked is San Francisco. Yet San Francisco has one of the highest concentrations of high quality roasters and coffee companies anywhere in the world.
So this event will focus on the City by the Bay. A city known more for its chocolate, Asian food, and trollies than for its outstanding coffee. In order to appreciate the scope of San Francisco's coffee scene we will cup and brew coffees from five different roasters:

The event will be hosted at Velo Coffee Roasters on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7pm.
There will be a $5 cover charge to cover the cost of the coffee.
