On June 21, the first day of summer, Pat Sterling will lead us in a practice to welcome the season. Traditionally, we do 108 sun salutes, or modified sun salutes. Alternatives, which will also focus on the number 108, will be offered to either do instead of the sun salutes practice, or that can be done while you take a break during the sun salutes practice.
This practice is by donation.
Come join us Tuesday, June 21 at 10am!
The Summer Solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's axial tilt is closest to the sun at its maximum of 23° 26'. Except at the equator (where all days have 12 hours of daylight) and in the polar regions (where daylight is continuous for half of the year), the day of the Summer Solstice (in June in the Northern Hemisphere, in December in the Southern Hemisphere) is the day of the year with the longest period of daylight.
Come celebrate summer with us!
