The seventh installment of the MANIFEST showcase will feature poetry – specifically, a poetry slam, on May 13th at The Camp House (1427 Williams St.). A poetry slam is where participating poets compete against one another for the highest scores from judges. It will be a themed slam where poets have to perform their best three-minute poems dealing with love (or how much they hate it).
Poets will be able to sign-up on site starting at 8 PM. The slam will begin at 9. Admission is $5 for poets who will be competing and $8 for everyone else. Christian J. Collier will serve as the slam master for the night. For more information on the slam or MANIFEST, he can be reached at thespeakeasypoetry@gmail.com.
