On Saturday, March 12th and Sunday, March 13th from 12 noon – 5 pm, visit Rock City’s much loved St. Patrick’s Day celebration featuring old favorites and new sounds, themed food and “lucky” activities! This event is a Top 20 Event by Southeast Tourism Society for March 2010 and 2011.
Be Irish for a day - wear your favorite green and come prepared to get decked out with Lucky Clover Makeovers, taste some green fudge or green tea lattes and cappuccinos from Starbucks. See the green waterfall cascade down Lookout Mountain as you eat some Mulligan Stew and the kids go on a Lucky Shamrock Treasure Map Adventure!
Hear live Celtic and Highlands music by Shamrock City favorites, The Molly Maguires, the Chattanooga Pipe Band, Celtic Plain, OLTA, Pay the Reckoning and of course - Irish jig lessons! And on national tour comes Castle Bay to the pavilion stage.
Shamrock City is once again partnering with the Chattanooga district of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and is participating in the “Shamrocks Against Dystrophy Program.” Guests have already started purchasing green shamrocks for $1 or gold shamrocks for $5. This opportunity continues through St. Patrick’s Day and helps supply needed funds to aid local families with MD.
Haven’t had enough green fun? This is a great reason to get an annual pass for less than the price of two admissions, and enjoy a weekend worth of festivities and a year’s worth of exciting events!
Go to www.seerockcity.com/shamrockcity for more info on the entertainment lineup and events. Shamrock City is sponsored by Big River Grille and Brewing Works. Located only six miles from downtown Chattanooga, Tenn., Rock City is a 14-acre natural and scenic attraction with unique rock formations and gardens atop Lookout Mountain.
