Interactive Poetry Contest Focusing on African-American History

Ø Free to enter (Deadline: February 14, 2011)

Ø Poems must be original works

Ø Cash prizes and other awards

Ø Must read poem aloud and be present to win

Contest is called: Black - Ink: Excellence in Expressions. The Black is in honor of Black history month. The Ink represents the inked or penciled poetry; making this contest historical and artistic!

Ø Honoring 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes.

Ø Refreshments served.

Ø Contestants will interact with judges and audience to elaborate on motivations.

Ø There will be an adult (18 +) and youth (17 and under) division.

Ø Poetry must be free of vulgarity or derogatory content.
