Chattanooga audiences may not be aware of the wealth of jazz talent that resides in Knoxville as a result of UTK's superb jazz program. Guitarist Mark Boling, drummer Keith Brown and bassist Rusty Holloway have been amongst the program's stellar figures for years. Tenor saxophonist Gregory Tardy just joined the faculty last fall, and what an addition he is! We are delighted to included such strong representation from Knoxville in our first season of Jazz At Barking Legs, and we hope to build an association that will only grow in the years to come. A question-and-answer session with the artist will follow the performance. Supported in part by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.

“One of the bright hopes…Tardy sounds like a seeker. He has a yearning sound, as though he’s climbing toward absolution and salvation in every solo.” New York Times
