Janice Beck Artist Statement:

Watercolor Painting - beginner to advanced

“True art express an emotion”

The first thing a painter needs is to have feelings about his subject and a desire to share that emotion with others. The next step for the artist is to know how to convey the passion he feels. For a visual artist that means organizing an emotional experience into a unified dynamic composition.

The purpose of this workshop is to show the methods and techniques involved in creating an expressive painting with good composition. Emphasis will be placed on the use and control of color and light in your paintings.

Watercolor basics will be covered with all beginners. Paintings can be done from photographs or from a choice of “still lives.”

Workshop will consist of five days painting with the expectations of three to five finished works. 9:00-4:30 with lunch break at noon.

Fee $375
