The holiday season is here and the Bessie Smith Cultural Center (BSCC) is joining forces with a variety of multicultural groups to bring Chattanooga some holiday cheer.

On Thursday, December 16, the BSCC is hosting Holiday Around the Globe. From the Native Americans and Scottish communities to Greeks and Cubans, the holiday season is celebrated differently across cultures. Ethnic communities from across Chattanooga will educate and showcase their traditions and customs through song, dance, poetry, and food. In addition to enjoying the performances, attendees will have an opportunity to purchase handcrafted jewelry, ornaments, clothing, and more from multicultural vendors.

Holiday Around the Globe is an enriching program that will be enjoyed by the entire family,” said Rose Martin, Executive Director of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. “It’s a great opportunity to learn about the variety of ethnic communities that make our city so unique and at the same time learn about their holiday customs and traditions. This experience will allow attendees to travel the world without leaving the Scenic City.”

This family friendly affair will be held from 4 pm – 8 pm at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center located at 200 E. Martin Luther King Boulevard. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
