WHO?
Calling open water swimmers for a 10 mile (16K) swim in ~70 degree water. No wetsuits or swim aids. Must be able to complete swim in under 6 hours. Also calling kayakers, motor boats, and Stand-up paddlers who want to volunteer to pilot (guide) a swimmer in their race. Kayaks can be provided.
CSPF English channel rules = speedo suit for women (no long legs) and speedo or jammer shorts for men (no long legs). “No form of heat retention suit or hat is allowed (nothing neoprene or overly thick). The suit must not be positively buoyant - it must not go below the knees or be off the shoulders.”

Swim the Suck is a 10-mile downstream open water swim through the Tennessee River Gorge in Chattanooga, TN. The swim is co-hosted by the C.O.W.S. (Chattanooga Open Water Swimmers) and Outdoor Chattanooga. Swim the Suck 2011 is a part of RiverRocks Chattanooga (http://www.riverrockschattanooga.com/), a week-long event celebrating the cities abundance of outdoor sports oppotunities featuring competitionsfrom kayaking to rock climbing to hang gliding to open water swimming held in our beautiful mountains, rivers, and forests.
