From Birmingham, AL, Lynam is a band that has no limits. With the attitude of Sid Vicious and the pure energy of early Guns N Roses, the three brothers that make up the band Lynam have a take no prisoners approach to their music. We all got turned on to music early on says front man Jacob Lynam We really latched on to the larger than life spectacle of 80s rock bands. All of the old videos and concerts look like one big party. Everyone is having a good time and the music is about having fun. These days it seams like bands are whining about how hard it was growing up in suburbia instead of giving their fans a great show. Lets have fun again, lets bring the show back chimes in Mark Lynam, the bands bassist. Lynams history dates back to the 70s when their dad Ronnie Lynam moved to England to front the band Black Sabbath. The band had just parted ways with Ozzy Osbourne and they were looking for a singer with a new sound. When Ronnie joined Black Sabbath, he started using the stage name Ronnie James Dio. Everyone agreed Dio sounded more evil than Ronnie James Lynam. Around the time the Heaven and Hell album came out, Ronnie was confronted by Stevie Nicks, singer for Fleetwood Mac. She announced to him that she was 8 months pregnant. Ronnie’s band before Black Sabbath, Rainbow had played some shows with Fleetwood Mac. On June 12th 1980, Mark was born. Their relationship secretly lasted another 2 years and they had 2 more children, David and Jacob. By the time Jacob was born, Ronnie had decided to leave Black Sabbath and start a solo career. Because of Ronnie and Stevie’s busy careers, the three children were placed in separate foster homes in Birmingham, AL. In March of 2001, the brothers re-connected and saw each other for the first time since they were kids. They quickly realized they shared the same goals and love of music. In 2002, they released their first album White “Trash Superstar” followed by “Bling Bling!” (2003), “Life In Reverse” (2004) and “Slave To The Machine” (2006). Their next album “Tragic City Symphony” is set to be released in August of 2008. This is the album that we’ve always wanted to make states Jacob. Were ready for the world to hear this album. The guitars and drums are big and the shows are bigger. When asked about their feelings for their mom and dad they all just smile, Were not angry says David. We have just recently re-connected with our mom adds Jacob. I wanted to meet her, so I got my girlfriend Natalie to record one of her songs. Her band, The Dixie Chicks had a number 1 single with their version of Landslide. We are hoping that one day we can reunite with our dad as well, but he is currently in Middle Earth slaying dragons.
