This Sunday, folks will have a foot stoppin', banjo playin' good time at Chattanooga Market.

Mountain View Ford will sponsor the day and present two great bluegrass bands.

At 12:30pm, The Bluegrass Pharaohs take the EPB Stage.
Performing traditional, contemporary and modern bluegrass, the band features both female and male lead vocals with beautiful harmony singing and an accomplished bunch of bluegrass pickers. Their musical scope ranges from Monroe and Stanley to Alison Krause and Clair Lynch. From Flatt and Scruggs and Jimmy Martin to U2 and Fleetwood Mac.

At 2:00, Hailing from Chattanooga Tennessee, Slim Pickins is a 5-piece bluegrass band that has been opening eyes and ears across the southeast. Taking the stage at 2pm, their fast paced, lively shows are reminiscent of the diverse musical influences that the band shares. They combine the talent, instrumentation, and song selection of a New Grass Revival, Doc Watson, or David Grisman with a high energy level not seen since the Ramones. It is this combination that pushed the band into recent nominations and subsequent awards from FYI for Best Bluegrass Band and Best Live Band. The band features John Boulware, 2006 Tennessee State Fiddle Champion, leading a group of up and coming hot shots. Slim Pickins music is upbeat, unapologetic, and most importantly fun.
