If there were one word to describe the Nashville-based trio, Heypenny, simply put it would be persistent.

The band’s new full length, A Jillion Kicks is an album three years in the making. It has seen a handful of producers and was originally recorded at the legendary House of David Studios in Nashville, TN as well as a studio in London… but all of the pieces weren’t fitting as the energy and essence of Heypenny wasn’t coming across in the recordings. Ultimately the band went with their gut and scrapped it all.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign—where the band’s fans funded the record—Heypenny completely re-tracked everything with close friend/musician/producer Charles Allison at his Spanner Sound studio in Chattanooga, TN. It was a barnstormer of a session, taking what had taken two years to track and redoing it in only 5 days. The band then enlisted the talented mixing engineer Craig Alvin (Colourmusic, the Features, Hanson) to put the finishing touches on the album.
