Chattanooga’s Favorite Party Band
Members: Randy Clark, Terryl Greene, David Turner, Rick Lane,
Ranse Whitworth and Randy Johnston make up one of the Southeast finest Classic Rock bands The Beaters. Formed in 1985 by Clark, Greene and Turner, the band achieved great success by performing the music of the 60’s. Looking for an even bigger sound in 1994, the Beaters added Rick Lane and Ranse Whitworth at keyboards to help duplicate the Synth and Horn arrangements of the 70’s and 80’s. Randy Johnston joined the group in 2002 to produce even more versatility with his soaring vocals and blazing guitar work. The Beaters pay close attention to detail in reproducing the sounds of the original recordings. Their excellent vocal harmonies and exceptional musicianship are unsurpassed. The band plays a variety of music styles such as: 60’s rock artists: The Beatles, The Stones, CCR, Van Morrison. Motown artist: The Temptations, Four Tops, and Marvin Gaye. R&B Artist: James Brown, Wilson Picket, Aretha Franklin. 70’s Bands: Chicago, The Allman Brothers, Aerosmith, The Eagles, 80’s Groups: The Cars, The Fixx, The Police and even Disco Artists like KC, Rick James, & The Commodores…. When it comes to music styles, The Beaters have it covered.
In the many years the group as been together, they have traveled all over the Southeast. From Nashville to Naples Florida, they have performed at festivals, weddings, nightclubs, corporate parties and every other kind of event imaginable. The Beaters have opened shows for artist such as, Martina McBride, Chuck Berry, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Mark Wills and many others. Throughout the years The Beaters have kept them dancing on the dance floors, bar stools, and in the streets. Their unique sound and professionalism keeps them in great demand. All that plus they caused weddings, divorces and many many hangovers. One of the best bands to come out of Chattanooga.
