Mike Silverman is That 1 Guy who invented that one instrument he calls "The Magic Pipe". He spent a month creating his one-man-band harp/bass/pipes/drums-esque multi-instrument by scavenging hardware stores. Two strings of different pitches are attached to the pipes, one grounded and the other maneuverable. Triggers in the pipes play samples when struck, a cowboy boot strikes the kick drum, an electric saw, well, saws, and billowing smoke tops the whole thing off at shows. That 1 Guy's debut album Songs in the Key of Beotch was rereleased under Ani Difranco's Righteous Babe label in 2004, followed by The Moon is Disgusting in 2007, a concept album for an imagined film about human evolution.
