On Friday, May 4, La Paz Chattanooga hosts its fourth annual Sangria on the Southside fundraising event to benefit Chattanooga's Latino community.

Members of the Chattanooga community are invited to experience Latin culture at its best - truly diverse and rich with history and traditions, as demonstrated by professional flamenco dance group, Caló Gitano, who is returning for the fourth consecutive year to perform at Sangria on the Southside.

"This is our third straight year partnering with La Paz for Sangria on the Southside, and it has been exciting to see the event, as well as the organization, grow during that time," said Paula Brown, Project Manager for Diversity Inclusion at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). "As the area Latino populace continues to increase, organizations such as La Paz are essential in connecting this demographic with the people and resources of the region. Sangria on the Southside has become a signature Chattanooga event and a symbol of the diversity in our city."

Sangria on the Southside offers a unique display of Latin flare in homemade Mexican cuisine provided by Taqueria Jalisco, fresh sangria and beer (Corona, Victoria and Modelo Especial), traditional dancing, music and more!

A Silent Auction will take place from 7 to 9pm, featuring local and international items. The Caló Gitano live performance will kick off the event, and area DJ's will wrap up the night playing popular Latin dance music for the crowd.

"One of the greatest things about Chattanooga is the prevailing desire to create an inclusive community," said David Martin, Manager of Development and Communications at La Paz. "The vision of La Paz is to create a trusted network surrounding Chattanooga's Latino community, and Sangria on the Southside is a great opportunity to promote this goal. This is an event that gives Chattanoogans the chance to learn about, and celebrate, the culture of the fastest growing segment of their city."

Tickets to the event can be purchased for $30 online at sangriaonthesouthside.org or by calling 423.624.8414. Now through Monday, April 9, people can register to win four free tickets to Sangria on the Southside by participating in a Facebook competition.
