Georgia native Levi Lowery grew up in a artistic environment, which influenced his
passion for music. Most notably his great-great-grandfather, Gid Tanner, was influential
in the development of the bluegrass movement. Lowery began formally studying music
at a young age. He picked the violin in the 6th grade on “Pick Your Instrument Day”, he
began playing bluegrass in the 7th grade, began singing in high school, and began writing
and playing guitar shortly after.
When Lowery wrote his first song he realized music was what he wanted to pursue as a
lifelong career. Noted for his songwriting craft, Lowey delivers honest and direct lyrics
on life, love and the duality of spirituality over his Americana/folk-rock music.
Inspired by an early Butch Walker performance and the power live musical
performances can have over an audience, he began headlining solo performances in the
Southeast. Lowery’s career continues to excel beyond his native Georgia, having recently
silenced an audience at a sold out should at Terminal 5 in New York City.
While performing, Lowery prefers intimate venues but relishes opportunities to captivate
susceptive larger audiences with his candid storytelling. The moments and messages in
his songwriting are specific, they target individuals through empathy or shared
experience. Lowery’s communication goal is simple – “if I can make people feel what
I've felt, then I've done my job.”
Lowery recently inked a deal with Zac Brown's Southern Ground Records and is
currently on the Breaking Southern Ground Tour with the Zac Brown Band. Lowery is
currently working on a new album, produced by Zac Brown, due out in early 2010 on
Southern Ground Records.

SONIA LEIGH
Sonia Leigh is a singer/songwriter hailing from Atlanta, Georgia recently signed with Zac
Brown's Southern Ground Records and currently touring nationwide with the Zac Brown
Band on the Breaking Southern Ground Tour.
Unlike so many other performers, Sonia easily and immediately establishes a bond with
her audience by the sincerity of her haunting voice, soulful lyrics, excellent musicianship
and sultry appearance. Although Sonia stands only 5’5’’, her powerful stage presence
belies her petite stature. Sonia Leigh breaks the rules with her edge and vocals that pierce
the spirit and lyrics that leave the fans singing along. A little bit of country flavored with
a pinch of Rock and Roll, with the passion of the blues, Sonia Leigh has developed a
sound that is all her own.
Sonia Leigh’s roots are in country music (her grandfather and father were musicians and
songwriters) She learned to play guitar by listening to her father sing and play the guitar.
As a toddler, Sonia banged away on his guitar. By the age of 10, her father taught her
chords and strumming techniques. Sonia was drawn to artists from various musical
backgrounds, including Willie Nelson, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Steve Miller,
Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jackson Browne, Janis Joplin, CCR, The Eagles, Alabama,
Melissa Etheridge, and Bruce Springsteen. This musical upbringing serves as the
foundation that has become the unique sound of Sonia Leigh.
Sonia Leigh has written a diverse selection of music over the years. Her first song was
recorded at the age of 14. A family friend asked Sonia to write a song and when he heard
it immediately set up a recording session. By the age of 21, Sonia had recorded two
albums. She has performed all over the United States headlining and supporting acts
including Sugarland, Little Big Town, Kid Rock, Zac Brown Band, Chris Knight,
Caroline Aiken, Kristen Hall, Michelle Malone, Clay Cook (Zac Brown Band, Marshall
