Tuesday Night Live, to be held at the CTC in the lobby and on the patio by the Tennessee River on May 19, combines humor, gourmet food, fine drink, an auction with impressive items, and fun. Highlight of the evening is original comedy skits satirizing local hot topics and stories “ripped from today’s headlines” featuring performances from area notables.
“This is not your typical fund-raising gala, because of the irreverent tone and relaxed atmosphere,” says Paula Henderson, chairperson of the event. “We’re showcasing our best assets: talent, wit, and production value. Plus the lawn of the CTC is a great place to throw a party.”
“I call Tuesday Night Live the ‘un-gala’,” says George Quick, producing director of the CTC. “This is about as far removed from a stuffy, dress-up fund-raiser as you can get. It’s a casual, after work, fun, fund-raising evening.”
Proceeds from the event will support the activities of the not-for-profit Chattanooga Theatre Centre, the oldest, continuously operating Community Theatre in the country.
Kicking off right after work at 5:30 May 19, Tuesday Night Live includes a sit-down gourmet meal catered by Events With Taste, complete with complimentary wine and beer, and a live and silent auction before the entertainment begins.
Individual tickets are $50 and are all inclusive – even parking is included in the price. Tables for eight can be reserved for $400. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Tickets are available now by calling 423-267-8534 or online at www.TheatreCentre.com.
“This is the perfect fund-raiser,” says Henderson. “You don’t have to dress up, it’s only $50 a person, and it’s going to be hilarious. People will be talking about this all year.”
