Ringgold Telephone Company (RTC) is proud to host the 1st Annual Summerset Concert, featuring Matt Nathanson, Erin McCarley and SafetySuit. Summerset, presented by Chattanooga Times Free Press and 96.5 The Mountain, will take place Tuesday, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the newly established Northwest Georgia Bank Amphitheater, just 15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga.
Matt Nathanson, singer/songwriter and guitarist, will headline the Summerset Concert. Nathanson is currently the #4 artist featured on VH1’s You Oughta Know and is most recently known for his hit single “Come on Get Higher” from the 2007 released album Some Mad Hope. He has appeared on numerous late night talk shows in promotion of his album. Additionally, he boasts an extensive tour schedule for the summer of 2009. Nathanson is also known for his first single, “Car Crash,” which was widely popular in 2008.
Additionally, up and coming artist and songwriter Erin McCarley will perform. The newly released album Love, Save the Empty radiates McCarley’s incredible musicality. McCarley’s single “Love, Save the Empty” was recently featured on the box office hit film He’s Just Not That Into You. Several of McCarley’s other singles have been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill and Kyle XY.
SafetySuit, an alternative rock band, will be an opener for the Summerset Concert. In December, SafeteySuit was recognized on VH1’s Top Twenty with their hit single “Someone Like You.” The band’s Myspace website boasts that SafetySuit is “an extraordinarily talented, musically confident young band that does, in fact, inspire.” The newest single, “Stay” is also gaining widespread popularity.
Tickets for the event will go on sale April 2. Internet presale tickets will be $15. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the event. Tickets purchased at the gate will be $25. Tickets are available through www.ticketweb.com.
The 2009 Summerset Concert, an RTC event, is presented by the Chattanooga Times Free Press and 96.5 The Mountain. The event is sponsored by Erlanger and Northwest Georgia Bank. All proceeds will benefit The Evitt Foundation, a 501c3 which promotes child welfare and education. Summerset will take place at the Northwest Georgia Bank Amphitheater in Ringgold, Georgia.
