The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) recently opened the city’s first state-of-the-art digital media center. To meet the growing needs of everyone from emerging artists and professionals to students and hobbyist, AVA is offering the following technologically based visual art, video and photography workshops during the month of January:

• Photoshop II - Tuesdays, January 6 – 27 from 6 – 8 pm
Cost: $125/AVA Members $200 Non-Members

• Beginning Digital Photography – Thursdays, January 8 – 29 from 6 – 8 pm
Cost: $125 AVA Members $200 Non-Members

• Slide Scanning Workshop – Saturday, January 17 from 10 am – Noon
Cost: $30 AVA Members $75 Non-Members

• From Camera to Computer – Saturday, January 31 from 9 am – Noon
Cost: $45 AVA Members $90 Non-Members

In addition to offering specialized classes, which are taught by professional artists and instructors, AVA also gives residents an opportunity to work on projects independently by having open lab hours on Tuesdays through Thursdays and also on Saturdays. A trained professional is always present during the open lab to answer any questions and to provide assistance.
