Duck Baker is one of the most highly regarded finger-style guitarists of his generation. Baker has a reputation as a virtuoso, and he is unique among jazz guitarists in that his repertoire spans the entire history of the music—from ragtime through swing to modern masters like Thelonious Monk and Herbie Nichols to free improvisation. His devotion to American music also encompasses more traditional forms like blues, gospel, and Appalachian music and its Scots-Irish ancestry. Baker has written several books on finger-style guitar, made numerous tutorial videos, created film soundtracks, and performed with musicians like Roswell Rudd, John Zorn, Eugene Chadbourne, and Henry Kaiser.
Currently living in London, Baker will play a rare stateside show both as a soloist and as part of an improvising trio including the Shaking Ray Levis from Chattanooga.
